Determine
Your Mortgage Loan Broker's
Integrity and experience
Before
selecting your mortgage loan broker, call or visit the Web site of
the Department of Real Estate to determine if the mortgage loan
broker and his or her loan representatives are properly licensed,
how long licensed, and whether any of the licenses required disciplinary action.
Another good practice is to call the local Better Business Bureau to
find out if any complaints
have been lodged.
As part of your due diligence, ask the
mortgage loan broker to provide a professional profile
for your review, including information about how many loans negotiated by the
mortgage loan broker resulted in foreclosure during the last few years.
Also find out if the mortgage loan broker is the borrower or if
he/she has any relationship to the borrower.
